Can some one help me find the title of this book ?

It has a lot of details from "That was Then, This is Now" by S.E. Hinton. There were 2 friends that were like brothers - one was sort of taken in by the other's family. The "adopted" one gets involved in dealing. There is another younger character that gets hooked and has at least one bad trip from what I remember. But he is the younger brother of another character.
