PS1 Power Cord. Will it work for a lamp fixture?

I am looking to make my own lamp, but was wondering if the standard 110v wiring (Just Blk and White) would be safe to hook up to the 2 wiriring terminals in a lamp fixture.Dont wanna start a fire lol. (My wiring skills are equivalent to that of a speaker wire splicer lol)
