Why does my vw bug keep turning off?

Completly agreeing with him, check fuel pressure and condition old fuel does not burn well, air cleaner, fuel filter, carborator condition, spark plugs and wires just a place to start but those engines are simple and keep running forever use elimination as you go through and your sure to find the gremlin thats messin with ya.
