Is it common for introverted people prefer extroverted people, and vice versa?

I wouldn't say I'm shy, but I'm definitely introverted, and I prefer being around extroverted people. I don't like COMPLETE opposites of me. I like people who are goofy and imaginative and playful like I am, but I'm the quiet one in public, and I like them to be the dominate one who takes charge. What about you?
