Can someone give me a food web to which a Black Rhino belongs? I can't find 1 anywhere!!?
A black rhino definitely has a place in the food web. They're herbivores, meaning they eat entirely plants, and also primary consumers, the first step up from primary producers, which are plants. Although they grow to be large enough that most predators will avoid them, I'm sure their young can fall prey to any number of African predators. They're also linked to the food web because their dung provides food for bacteria, fungi, and especially insects, which can feed other animals (small mammals, birds, which can be food for larger carnivores). Their dung also replenishes the soil, which provides a nitrogen source for plants. And plants are eaten by primary producers, which feed consumers like carnivores.
