What does it mean when mecca is released from a baby right before a c section??
You mean meconium. It's the baby's first bowel movement. When it happens before the baby is born it can mean the baby was in distress OR it could be that you were overdue. I've had it with ALL of my children and it's disappointing because I've always wanted to grab them right after birth before they clean them up, but I can't because they take them for a suctioning. If they don't get the meconium out of their lungs it can literally fill their lungs and make it impossible for them to breathe and it can also cause other lung issues such as infection and something resembling emphasema(sp?) where the air sacs are actually distroyed leaving less to take in and process the air they breathe.
